About Us
Currently SCEC has over 70 members employing 65,000+ social care staff with an annual turnover of £1.2b. We also work closely with other organisations such as VODG and the Care Forum.
SCEC is managed by a small steering group and provides a range of services:
- Social care research - SCEC has published two reports: Social Care - The Growing Crisis, 2004 and Social Care - Has Anything Changed, 2007.
- Lobbying and campaigning directly with Government and other influential bodies in social care.
- Consultation and representation either through written responses to consultation documents or through direct representation on such bodies as CRB, Skills for Care and ad hoc working groups with the Home Office and Department of Health.
- Conferences and information on the latest issues affecting social care employers.
SCEC works for all employers of social care staff in the voluntary and not-for-profit sectors and welcomes all new members.
